If pain exists to teach one a lesson...

...then I feel there must be a lot to learn from this painful bug. So far I've learned to always delay pushes into the Fedora queue, even for security updates. Anyways, apologies for the trouble; this is really an awful bug. We'll probably be turning up cases where developers had relied on the erroneous permission for some time.

Speaking of untested pushes...

After applying the DBUS update, PackageKit is now completely non-functional on my F10 test system. Assuming I'm not the only one with a standard out-of-the-box configuration, this DBUS update may have not only broken the system, but broken the update system so it can't be fixed by many users.

PackageKit and nautilus FTP browsing

Same here on the side of things which are fucked... except now I can't use nautilus to browse FTP because it chucks out a dbus error... Should I bother reporting this or is fedora already aware of these problems?

Re: PackageKit and nautilus FTP browsing

I am pretty sure Colin is aware of the issue, having pushed the update in the first place.
